Joseph A. Salame MD. FRCS(C) specializes in the field of cerebrovascular, skull base, and Endovascular Neurosurgery. He completed his Neurosurgical training at the University of Sherbrooke Medical Centre (CHUS), in Sherbrooke, Canada. He joined the faculty at the University of Sherbrooke as the Cerebrovascular specialist (CHUS) in 2004.
Dr. Salame then completed a fellowship in Interventional Neurosurgery at the University of Miami in 2007. Since then, he joined the Faculty of the American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC).
Dr. Salame is head of the cerebrovascular section in the division of neurosurgery of the AUBMC. He treats all aspects of cerebrovascular disease such as acute stroke, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, extra-and intra-cranial atherosclerotic disease, Moya Moya disease, and spinal vascular malformations. He also has a profound interest in brain tumors, skull base surgery, as well as bypass surgery. His practice is almost equally divided between open surgeries and endovascular surgeries.
