Basil Salam is an Assistant Professor at the Radiology Department of the Aga Khan University Hospital since 2009. He received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1995 at the Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan. In 2005, he is a Fellow in the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan in Diagnostic Radiology. He received his Post Residency Fellowship in the Vascular & Interventional Radiology, Department of Radiology at The Aga Khan University Hospital in 2006.
He was able to perform independently all diagnostic and interventional procedures like angiograms, peripheral angioplasties and stenting, below the knee angioplasties, Embolization like tumor embolization, bleeder embolization, TACE, TAE, UFE, Tumor ablations like RFA, Biliary drainage & stenting, DJ stenting, IVC filter placement, PCN, etc. In addition, he performs in cross sectional imaging both CT and MRI, general radiology, fluoroscopy and ultrasound.
He is also an active member of pediatric radiology team and is capable of performing all pediatric procedure and reporting as well as pediatric interventions.
