Dr. Jafar Golzarian is a Board Certified Professor of Interventional Radiology at the University of Minnesota and a Key Opinion leader in the area of embolization for the treatment of multiple indications. Dr. Golzarian graduated from Medical School at the University of Brussels, School of Medicine. He was a radiology resident at the Erasme Hospital, Brussels and had finished his Fellowship for Interventional Radiology at the same university.
His numerous professional associations includes the European Congress of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, Society of Interventional Radiology and a Fellow at the Society of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology of Europe.
Dr. Golzarian is a pioneer in his field having performed several first time procedures using microsphere technology in the United States for several indications. His laboratory and staff have successfully manufactured bioresorbable microspheres (BRMS) from chitosan and carboxymethyl cellulose and have tested them in vitro and in vivo.
