Dr. Shin completed a residency in Radiology (1995-1998) at the Asan Medical Center, then completed two-year fellowship of Neuroradiology/Neurointervention and three-year research professor of Interventional Radiology at the same institution.
Dr. Shin is currently the director of Interventional Radiology, director of the Fellowship program and professor at the Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine, which is the premier medical institution in South Korea.
His special interest is lymphatic intervention, embolization therapy (especially GI bleeding and postpartum hemorrhage), genitourinary intervention, enterostomy, as well as new treatment for HCC. Development and clinical application of various interventional devices are also his strong parts.
He has been doing a lot of experiences of animal experiments based on career of a dedicated research professor from 2002 to 2005, and has over 220 peer reviewed publications as a first or corresponding author and 13 book chapters.
