Pioneer of interventional radiology in Portugal in 1980. PhD at faculty Medical Sciences Lisbon 1990, full professor 1997. Director of radiology department at Santa Marta Hospital Lisbon 1980-1998 and Pulido Valente Hospital Lisbon 1998 to 2005. Director of interventional radiology at St. Louis Hospital since 1998. 2008 pioneer of prostatic artery embolization, having treated over 1300 patients.
