John C. Chaloupka, MD, FAHA, FACA is Professor of Radiology & Neurosurgery, Division Chief of Neuro-Interventional Services and Neuro-Endovascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center, Miami Beach, FL, USA. He is also Honarable Professor of Neurosurgery at Harbin Medical University, P.R. China. He formally held similar academic appointments/titles at University of Iowa, Yale University, and UCLA medical schools, as well as heading the Custom Stent & Interventional Radiological Device Center at UIHC, and Co-Director of the Yale Cerebrovascular Center.
Dr. Chaloupka is extensively published, and as an internationally-recognized expert in endovascular surgical management of various cerebrovascular diseases (including intracranial aneurysms, neurovascular AVMs, dural AVFs, acute stroke thrombolysis, cervical carotid and vertebral atherosclerotic disease, and intracranial atherosclerotic disease), has been and continues to be a popular global lecturer and teacher. This included special recognition as a master neuro-endovascular surgeon when invited to give a keynote Masters Session at the prestigious 2009 Beijing Cerebral Neurovascular Disease Forum.

Dr. Chalouka is an authority on a wide spectrum of in-vivo, in-vitro, and mathematical models of cerebrovascular disease, with particular emphasis in endovascular device development & validation, and pathogenesis/natural history analysis.
Dr Chaloupka has extensively consulted for many companies, including Target Therapeutics, Boston Scientific, Cordis & Codman NV, MTI/eV3, Penumbra, MicroVention, Nfocus, and Stryker NV, having played pivotal roles in the development and commercial implementation of many past and current medical devices utilized in the neuro-interventional arena.
