Parag J. Patel MD MS FSIR is an Associate Professor of Radiology and Surgery in the Division of Vascular & Interventional Radiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Dr. Patel graduated from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine in 2002 and completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Loyola University Medical Center in 2007. He completed his VIR Fellowship at Miami Cardiac & Vascular Institute in Miami, Florida.
Dr. Patel joined the faculty at Medical College of Wisconsin in 2008. He has been involved with the education and mentorship of trainees; medical students, residents and fellows, since arriving at MCW. He serves as the Faculty Advisor of the medical student IR Interest Group and is the Program Director for the VIR Fellowship and IR Residency training programs at MCW. He has been an invited speaker at numerous national and international conferences and has authored several book chapters in the field of interventional radiology. He is the Course Director for the SIR Fellows’ Spring Practicum, the longest running course of its kind dedicated to IR Fellows. He is currently on the Executive Council for SIR and serves as the Graduate Medical Education Councilor. In this role he is helping to oversee the national transition of IR Training into the new IR Residency as well as development of a universal IR Residency Training curriculum.
Dr. Patel’s areas of clinical interest include evaluation and endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular disease, complex aortic disease, venous disease as well as embolization therapies.
